Prom Queen!!

I was asked a while ago to do my friend's makeup for her prom and we had a couple of trials beforehand. She doesn't often wear much makeup so she wanted to see what she liked and I obviously wanted her to have the look she wanted, plus I am always up for doing hair and makeup! She is an incredibly beautiful girl and looks amazing without makeup but prom calls for a bit of extra effort. I got the privilege of adding some sparkle.

Camping Part Two: Floral Headbands and Hoodies

It's time for the second instalment of photos from my 10 days away camping...

The weather fluctuated so much during the time away that I had to pack for all eventualities! The second half of the holiday was a little warmer during the day, so these outfits are a little more summery. I love having a tan, I don't want to bake myself but a little bit of a tan always makes me feel a little more glowy! So there was a bit of sunbathing going on...

Yes, I actually went camping...

A few years ago I would have been the first one to say that I am not a girl that would enjoy camping... Three years ago I was invited along to go camping with my friend and his family (who are basically my second family) and I decided to give it a go... We went down after his family was already there and stayed for a couple of nights before heading back. Last year we went for a few more nights and this year it progressed to actually staying the entire time, I actually managed to camp for 10 days! Amazing.

Anyway, whilst I was away I made sure to photograph my outfits and my makeup to show you. Camping means that outfits need to be comfy and practical but I didn't want to live in trackies (so I didn't take any). Also, layers are important as the weather changes so much over the day and lets face it, you're outside. The hot weather had also left the UK by the time I was away so that made life a little trickier. I could only take minimal makeup with me (a suitcase just for makeup isn't acceptable apparently...) so I was careful with what I packed.

Sidenote - onesies are lifesavers.

This is going to have to be done in more than one blog post as otherwise it's going to be SUPER LONG. Here goes the first part... (come back this Wednesday for the second instalment!)

Back to Brunette

In October last year I dyed my hair ombré and I loved it, my hair was only just past my shoulders and I hated it at that length so I was desperate to do something to change it up a bit. I loved the ombré and I redyed it in April. Not that I really needed to but I wanted to make the ends a little lighter. It sort of worked but not as well as i'd hoped as I used the same Garnier kit again, in the same colour and there wasn't much difference. My hair had grown though so the blonde just went a little higher when I did it again.

Anyway, it's been 10 months since I first dyed it and I got bored again. I thought about buying a lighter blonde dye to make it blonder at the ends but my hair would hate me for it. I know that dying your hair darker shades is much less damaging than light 'bleach' colours so I decided that I would go back to brown. I've been red in the past but I didn't know how well that would dye over the ombré blonde. I came back from camping and was planning on buying hair dye the next day but when I told my mum it turns out she'd bought a spare hair dye for herself but now thought it may be too dark so she gave it to me. It was the L'Oreal Paris Excellence Creme in shade 5 Natural Brown.

My hair went from this:

With flowers in my hair...

There has been one accessory that I have been wearing a lot (nearly everyday) this week. I have had it for ages, probably a couple of years. I went to Camden Market with my parents ages ago and bought it then although without asking my Mum i'm can't remember exactly sure when that was!

Anyway, it's summer and what's more summery than flower headbands?!
